A HEALTHY NEW HABIT

As I've said before, I'm not big on resolutions, but sometimes new things just start at the beginning of the new year, whether you "resolve" for them to or not. Wes and I have started a new morning habit of drinking warm lemon water in the morning after reading about its amazing health benefits and how it improves your metabolism:

Warm water aids digestion, lemon juice contains vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that helps calm liver inflammation and protect sagainst free radical damage.

Personally, I would like to get to the point where I don't crave (see "need, or it won't be pretty") caffeine first thing in the morning. I've never been a huge fan of lemon ice water with dinner, but something about heating it up and drinking it first thing in the morning is energizing and refreshing. I squeeze 1/2 a lemon (Wes and I split one) in a coffee cup of warm water.

What do you think about this health tip? Would you consider (eventually) replacing your morning cup of joe with a healthier option like this?

  1. I'm not really a coffee person, I'm all about the tea.

    I did the 17-day diet and it calls for a cup a hot water and lemon each morning. It really did help me get going on my water intake for the day and I lost weight faster than I thought I could.

    Glad you're doing this too & I can't wait to utilize the new fitness pad, I practically do that anyways on scrap paper- I'll be nice to have it organized!!

    1. I'm actually all about the sugar free redbull haha which is probably worse! glad to hear that there is truth behind the lemon water thing. and thanks for being my 1st "get fit" pad customer! :)

  2. I would love to be able to drink hot water & lemon every morning as I think it'll help me no end... I'm just too scared to give up my precious cup of teas! x

  3. My nanna once told me that she had a slice of lemon in hot water every morning since as early as she could remember. She said it got her up and at 'em in the morning. She lived until she was 98.
    I'm like Lucy- too scared to give up my morning coffee!

  4. On top of increasing your metabolic rate, it's also gives a nice feel to your breath :)
