DINING ROOM TOUR

Sorry to double up on the decorating posts this week, but I have been putting off showing you guys our dining room for so long now, and I finally decided that there's no time like the present!

The reason I kept putting it off is because I have been wanting to do a photo grid on the back wall above the buffet (for literally months now), but I cannot, for the life of me, find white square frames that are affordable. If anyone has a good resource for that, please let me know in the comments! I'm picturing a photo grid on that wall with black and white photos. I think it looks a little bare without it, but I just wanted to show you what I have so far anyway.

All of the links / sources can be found at the bottom of the post.

I'll start by showing you the buffet area.

Hi, Chester. Yes, I see you.

The buffet is a really cool mid-century modern design, in a pretty wood tone. It came with black doorknobs but I spray painted them gold. We actually have the night stands from this furniture suite in our master bedroom as well. It has a ton of storage inside, and it is great for keeping all of our serve ware and wine glasses organized (with room to spare!). I really like white kitchen stuff, can you tell? :)

On top of the buffet, I just have a few little displays, including a bar tray (next best thing to having an actual bar cart).

fresh tomatoes from our tiny little flower bed garden! :)

We already had the black table. We leave one of the leaves out, which fits best in the room, but you can also make it into just a square table or expand it even more. I would really like to eventually have a bigger, farmhouse-style table, but you know...budgets. :)

I was really happy to find these chairs because I really wanted upholstered chairs, but finding something that matched our table was tricky. These have black legs which works perfectly!

The two main things that we did in this room (excluding buying furniture) were painting the stencil on the accent wall and replacing the light fixture, both of which, Wes and I had no experience.

This wall stencil, you guys...

I wish I could recommend it to you completely because it turned out pretty cute overall, but I think it's something that I need to give positives and negatives for.

+ It's easier to replace than wallpaper if you are afraid of commitment, and it looks nice overall. The middle part is really easy and I did it myself.

- The edges are really, really hard to do. If you're by yourself, I'd say it's nearly impossible. The edges of our wall look pretty rough (you can see what I mean in the video).

I have never wallpapered so I can't compare it to that and say that it's easier or more difficult, but the edges were such a pain that I think I will just spring for the wallpaper next time. I think these stencils would probably be much easier on something like furniture. Just my opinion though!

The mini-chandelier that we bought really made a big impact on the room. I could not stand the old brown one with the dirty looking glass (see below), so this was something that we changed out pretty quickly. Wes installed it by himself and did a great job!

Here is our dining room before (from the listing photos), if you'd like to compare!

CHEAP & EASY BATHROOM ORGANIZATION

A few days ago, I got in one of those moods where something that had been bothering me every single day finally made me hit my breaking point, and that thing was our master bathroom. It was unorganized and completely undecorated, so I went to Target (of course) and just got a few things to freshen it up in there.

I picked up mostly white and aqua colored items (tip: check the dining / entertaining section for pretty bowls and plates you can use as trays for cheap!), and I used some other containers I had around the house to organize things nicely. That container that you see holding the q-tips used to be a candle. I also saw something on Pinterest once where someone got a pretty glass container to put their mouthwash in, so I copied that idea. It looks so much nicer than the regular mouthwash container, right? It's the little things!

The ceramic containers that you see holding my makeup brushes and lip pencils are from Paper & Clay.

Do you have any inexpensive or DIY ideas for organizing? Let me know in the comments!

A PEEK AROUND MY OFFICE

Today I thought I would show you around my office, where I spend...pretty much every single day!

You may think that I would want my workspace to be a little bit more decorated or colorful, but I actually get very, like, mentally stressed by clutter, and I need my workspace to be a little bit on the boring, sparse side or I won't be able to think! The most important thing about my work area is that it is clean and tidy, just for my own sanity. Also, we don't know how much longer we will be in this house - we know that this isn't our "forever" house - so I didn't want to do anything crazy with the walls and then have to redo it before we leave.

I definitely have plans to frame a whole bunch of my prints though, which, HELLO, are made for decorating your office, so I realize how ridiculous it is that I don't have any of them displayed. I guess just with all of the other decorating that we've been doing in the new house, my workspace has just been last on my priority list.

Anyway, enjoy this little mini tour of how my office has been looking these days! xo

Desk Area
This is where I obviously spend most of my time in my office. I try to keep my desk as clean as possible with a tray to contain the little things that I need to keep out, rather than stored away in the drawers. I like to have highlighters and a ballpoint pen ready to go, as well as a notebook. I love this phone handset thing that you plug into your cell phone - it's so much easier to have it to rest on your ear and it is supposed to prevent radiation, which is always a nice benefit!

I would love to eventually get a legit desktop Mac computer, but for now I have my MacBook and a large monitor combo that works just fine.

I also have a bulletin board that displays my business license and other tax related papers like that (because I'm always afraid I will lose them and freak out). In the corner, I keep rolls of wrapping paper in a large trash bin, which I very rarely need but my office seemed like the best place to store gift wrapping type things.

This is the only area of my office that has much decoration, with the tassel garland on the wall. If you watch my Youtube videos, you would probably recognize that this is where I usually film those.

Shipping & Inventory Station
I have shown you guys this part before, but this is where I sit and fill orders. I love having all of my supplies in one area so that I can quickly fill orders without having to waste time looking for things. All of the pretty products that you see are available in my shop, and you can find links for all of my shipping / packaging supplies in this post.

Photography Cart & Extra Storage
The cart in the corner is where I take photos for my shop and such. I feel so lucky to have two huge windows right there in the corner of my office! I store extra shipping labels, mailers, and other random things in the little shelf-cart things and then I store my printer and extra printer paper in the other wooden cart (maybe one day I'll get around to painting those!).

5 CLOSET CRUSHES

One of the things I did most while recovering was get my pin on. I can't help it! I'm a planner. And after I had browsed hair colors I moved on to one of my favorite things to plan / dream about...house stuff! I could plan dream houses and rooms all day long, you guys. I think I have a problem. I got really stuck on dreaming about closets, specifically.

Once we get some of the more important things done in the house, I would love to make over my my closet with wallpaper and a chandelier! Check out my ultra-girly closet plan below. I have included some more ideas at the bottom to help you recreate some of the above closet looks in your own home!

Let me know what you think / if you have a favorite closet inspiration (Carrie Bradshaw's perhaps?) in the comments below! xo

LIVING ROOM TOUR!

LIVING ROOM TOUR! | hollywouldblvd.com

We finally finished furnishing and decorating the living room of our new home! For those of you who don't know, we moved into a three bed, three bath house from a tiny one bedroom apartment, so we had basically no furniture when we first moved in. We have been taking the house a room at a time, and the living room was the first on the list. I hope you like it! I listed all of the links that I could think of at the bottom of the post so check that out, and let me know what you think in the comments! xo!

Here's what it looked like when we bought it:
