NEW HOUSE PLANS: WALL COLORS

Hey guys! I just got back to Nashville yesterday after spending last week with family, and I'm back today with the first planning post about the new house.

We will have a couple of weeks of overlap between our apartment and new house, so I'm hoping to be able to get all of the painting done during that time. Currently, the house is full of colors that we are just not crazy about like beige, blue, and even lime green (yikes!). I want all of the colors to flow well together, so I created this little color palette board to get an idea of how it will all look.

NEW HOUSE PLANS: WALL COLORS

What do you think of these colors? Do you have any advice about creating a color flow throughout a house? I would love to hear it in the comments below!

  1. Love these colors, Holly! As we continue to remodel I've been putting a lot of thought into what's "timeless" and won't be the 2013 version of shag carpet. I think these colors will always be welcome in your home.

  2. Wow these are just lovely! We're currently looking at colours and ideas for our new home too... there is so much choice out there it's hard to know where to begin!

  3. Hi, I just wanted to let you know you may be disappointed by almost aqua. Although it is a great color, it is not nearly as muted as it appears in this swatch. We used it in our kitchen and it is much more seafoamy or mermaidy in nature. Not to say that it is green but has the same color quality. Hope I could help! Good luck with the remodel:)

    1. oh no - thanks so much for letting me know! seafoamy is not what I'm wanting. I'll def have to get some samples to try before committing to a whole gallon. :)

  4. I know you went with Dolphin Fin and half strength Revere Pewter in the end. I am considering the Classic Grey. 1) it doesn't look anything like the paint chip or what is on the computer screen 2) a sample pot also does not give you a clue what it is like. The reality is that most grey colours have undertones, of either yellow, pink or green. In full sun, the undertones are noticeable. Classic Grey looks a creamy vanilla in full sun. When the sun fades, it looks like a flat putty colour. As far as a pure white goes, my favourite is Chantilly Lace.
